Wonderful Wednesday

Alright so, instead of doing a WW post with lots of little pictures that are wonderful, I'm going to discuss one big thing that's wonderful.  Aka getting a massage.

Because not gonna lie, I had an amazing one today.
Professional massages are great.  I try to, at a minimum, get one once a month, but it usually ends up being 2x a month.  They're like tattoos- they are addicting (yes, I have 4 tattoos.  No I don't care if you think I'm destroying my body).  Anyway, if you've never had one, you should do yourself a fave and book one.  Right now.  I'll wait.

Do do do dododo do do, Do do do do DO dododododo....
(Sidenote:  Is it totally weird that I sat here for like 5 minutes singing the Jeopardy song in my head so I could get the right number of "do"s?  I'm so sad.)  Didja do it?

Well you should.  Here's why:

Massages are great "me" time.  If you're super busy like me, taking me time is often really hard to do.  But very worth it.

You sleep better.  For real, I sleep like a baby after I get a deep tissue.

You release toxins and stress, and you feel better.  Regular massage therapy helps your muscles destress and let go of all those nasty toxins.  By extension, you destress.  You're more able to focus and you're in less pain.  Don't think you're in pain/stressed?  Go get a deep tissue and you will be like "Man I feel so good!"  And PS when you feel better, you're less stressed and ya just feel good.  For real.  Plus you feel totally indulgent and pampered which just makes life better, don't you think?

Massages are just good for you.  Period.  There are tons of studies I could cite right now, but honestly, I'm too lazy to go find them.  I know, I'm too lazy to google that, but not too lazy to find the perfect Alex Trebek photo and spend 5 minutes singing the jep song.  I have my priorities peoples!  Deal with it.  But for real, they like can make you live longer, decrease heart disease risk, increase circulation, stop world hunger, you know...the usual stuffs.

Honestly, if you're stressed to the max, hardcore type A like me, massages are necessary for your functioning.  They give you time to slow down and stop thinking, which in the long run, makes you more productive.  Idk how I lived without them for so long.  True story, broseph goebbels.

I just had an hour-long deep tissue massage this afternoon, and let me tell you, this went from a hump day to a Wonderful Wednesday.  Serious 360.  You should go get one soon!  If the price weirds you out, research some massage schools.  Their upper level students give great massages, but are still cheaper than the spa.  Win-win.

Anyway, I'm off to watch last night's episode of Dance Moms.  Let me know if you have a favorite type of massage, or your favorite part of a massage!

Stay wonderful
~K
