I don't know about you guys, but daylight savings times has kicked my ass this week. You know, it's only an hour difference, but it feels like a lifetime. This week has just dragggggggggggggged. I was in desperate need of something with champagne in it this afternoon.
On Wednesday, I bopped off to Total Wine because I knew I wouldn't have time to go get my champ. later. And then I discovered something amazing.
Almond champagne.
::dun dun DUN::
I have never had almond champagne before. I've never even heard of almond champagne before. So you know I had to try it.
Before making this week's cocktail I tried some and I have to say it was pretty yum-tastic. Sweet, but not too sweet, and a slight almond-y aftertaste that wasn't too overpowering. It's definitely a dessert wine in my eyes, and would pair well with heavy desserts, like maybe flourless cake or something delicious. Ummmmmmm desserts....
Anyway, so I knew when I tried some this afternoon, I had a winner. And I knew that there was only one thing that was coming to mind.

Yes. This week's cocktail consists of almond champagne and Chambord, one of my favorite liqueurs of like ever. My boyfriend and I disagreed on proportions, so I'm gonna include both. I liked tasting both the champagne and raspberry, while he liked the raspberry to take a bit more center stage. (Ironic right??? :P)
Directions:
Pour Chambord into champagne glass. I prefer 1 shot, le boyfriend prefers 1.5 shots. I would also advise chilling the Chambord- but I have a weird thing about drinks having to be cold.
Fill the rest of the glass with chilled almond champagne.
There you have it.. Pretty wonderful.

And P.S. I already came up with the best idea for the name: The Hunter-Gatherer. Because there are nuts and berries in that shit. I'm basically the most genius person ever when it comes to cocktail naming. I should open my own business. Cocktail Naming Company Inc. Bam. But really, that's it's name.
Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and that your cocktails are delicious. Comment below and tell me anything you would add to this wonderful concoction to make it even better? I'd love to hear!
Stay fabulous!
