Mimosa Moments...Sort of.

Y'all.  This week has been totally crazy times 10.  However, everything seems to be finally settling down now thank God.  I got slammed with a ton at work, and we are finally making headway with unpacking and getting everything together.  Yay!  But seriously...it has been one thing after another after another this week.  TGIMFF.  For realz yo.  I decided to start my weekend off with a pedicure :)

Due to some medical issues, I will not be imbibing this weekend :O I'm currently doing this test that involves no drinking alcohol, so you know it must be a total drag (kidding...sorta...).  BUT I decided to share some of my favorite summery drink recipes with you guys this Friday to kick off summer.  None of them involve champagne.  Shocking I know, but I gotta keep you guys on your toes.  Plus variety is the spice of life right?

I miss him already!!!

But here are three of my favorite drinks to have in the summah time.  Have one in honor of me tonight!

1.  The Caramel Orange

Pure Deliciousness

Ingredients:

2-3 oz caramel vodka, like the sweet deliciousness mentioned above.
Orange juice.

Literally just chill and mix these two together.  I was in one of my poor phases when I came up with this drink (i.e. that was literally all I had to mix together).  It was surprisingly tasty and I would highly recommend.  It is (in my opinion) a nice twist on the caramel appletini, and doesn't require 5 billion ingredients to make.  A+ in my book.

2.  Pregame at Tiffany's

Original Picture and Recipe from mamasstyle.com

I added a twist to the original lovely blue lemonade that just screams "I'm classy as shit" while getting wasted.

Ingredients:
1 oz of blue curacao (more depending on your color pref)
2 oz peach schnapps
1 oz vodka (I've done both regular and citrus flavored)
lemonade

Put that stuff in your mixer, shake n bake, and pour into martini glasses.  Bonus points: Rim glasses with sugar, as seem above.  But let's be real, who is really gonna rim that nonsense when they're wasted-faced?  Just sayin.  I won't judge if you don't Martha Stewart your glasses.  Remember- just by drinkin this beverage, you're classy as shit.

3.  Mali-booty

#sorrynotsorry for loving this movie.  Plus Taye Diggs is SO attractive.

Ingredients:

3 oz Malibu Rum
Cherry Coke

Can you tell I have a thing for simple, yet delicious drinks?  Mix them two together, then sit back on the beach and relax as you lol while watching the above movie on your ipad, or iphone, or whatever technological device you may have.  I'm pretty sure I can quote the above movie with 90% accuracy.  Is that pathetic or awesome?  I'm gonna go with Awesome for $400.

Anyway these are some of my favorite, very simple beverages that I love mixing up in the summer.  I have a ton of drink recipes up my sleeve, cause I'm always trying new recipes.  Would y'all like to hear some recipes that aren't champagne related?  What are you're favorite summer drinks?  Lemme know!

Stay classy (and have a drink for me!!)

Summer Must Haves

What up kiddos?  If you live anywhere in Virginia, you know that we have a tendency to go from winter to summer in about .5 seconds with no warning.  Seriously I think there was one day in March where I could wear "spring"-y clothes and not be too cold or too hot.  Alas, summer seems to be more or less upon us.  Which means I need to narrow down my Summer Must Haves for this season really quick.  Here are some of my personal favorites I have a feeling I will be loving for the rest of summer:

Laura Geller Champagne Spackle Under Makeup Primer

Usually, I'm the biggest fan of Urban Decay's Primer.  However, I recently tried this under make-up primer and have decided it's my new go to.  It gives your skin an awesome glow, but doesn't tint my skin too much to look unnatural (if you're pale like me you totally understand where I'm coming from.  If you're not pale, you're a lucky bastard and I'm totes jelly).  But I've had friends, tan and tan-challenged, tell me that this primer does give them a nice little glow without looking unnatural.  It also doesn't dry out my already dry skin which I totally appreciate.

Benefit Coralista Blush
This is another pale girl must.  I actually wear this year-round, but as I recently switched blushes and broke out all over my FACE, I have decided that me and Coralista, we are BFFs.  And nobody is going to come between us.  It gives me a nice flush without looking like I'm horribly sunburned, a drag queen, or a horribly sunburned drag queen.  I quite appreciate that.  Us pale girls know the importance of a good, natural flush blush.

3" chino short in Roller girl
J.Crew chino short in Roller Girl

I am a dress/skirt girl.  I think I own like one pair of shorts that is not expressly made for working out.  However, I will make an exception for these fabulous shorts from J.Crew.  I want them so bad.  The print is so awesome I can't even...It's amazing.  Be on the lookout for a joyous statement from me when I finally own them and proceed to pair them with every single shirt in my wardrobe.

Shop Shabby Apple for retro swimwear for women. We offer a great selection of vintage-inspired swimwear and other stylish clothes for women.
Shabby Apple Half Pike Bikini

I'm pretty sure I have posted this bikini in an earlier post.  I love retro swimwear.  They have such a relaxed, subtle sex appeal with the high waisted bottom and low cut top, not to mention they are universally flattering on basically every shape.  I love how this has the look of a one-piece but the BAM of a bikini without trying too hard.  I hate girls who try to hard at the beach, you know?  I know you have boobs bro.  I don't need them in my face.  This is still adorable and sexy all at the same time, without trying too hard, giving you an effortless glamour.

Sole Society Celine heel

These heels are functional and cute for work, but can still be awesome for ladies night out, without me having to worry about falling on my face/breaking my ankles drunkwalking.  I love the color-blocking- the purple and red are unexpected, but somehow work together.  Plus they have a slight J.Crew feeling without the J.Crew pricetag.  I want them in my closet like 5 years ago.

Sperry Top-sider  Women's Clara Flat
Sperry Clara Flat

I love me some Sperry Top-Siders.  I own like 6 or 8 pairs, not including the one pair of flips I have from them.  Them people KNOW their comfort.  For serious.  So while the above shoe would most likely be 75% office, this green and navy (which by the way comes in a ton of different colors) would make the perfect play flat.  They can be dressed up or down, and have that super fun summery feel without being your standard sandal.  I love the cutouts and the gold braiding.  Fabulousssssssssss!

Tipsy Skipper Tipsy Trunks Clutch in Hydrangea Blue

This clutch has been on my wish list for a while.  I may break down and order it- with an awesome monogram on the coordinating blue sash of course.  I mean seriously, how can you not love a clutch for lazy Sunday brunches/an impromptu date night that has some elephants on that?  That's right.  It's impossible not to love.  I'm pretty sure I can't live without it and will be ordering it ASAP.  It also comes in a snazzy lime green and navy that is equally as stunning.

So there you have it- my summer must haves.  What are your summer must haves?  Lemme knwo in the comments below!

Happy summer!

[Memorial] Magpie Monday

Hey friends!  I know I have been totally neglecting the blog lately :(  With the lack of camera and whirlwind to finish school (finished yesterday what whatttttttttttt?!?!) I have been all kinds of over the place lately.  Thankfully, school is done for 3 months :D  Which give me plenty of time to devote to this blog and y'all.  Yay!  I'm pretty excited.

So for this Magpie Monday, I wanted to get a lil patriotic cause duh, it's Memorial Day.  And Memorial Day is all about patriotic stuffs, veterans, and active service members.  And since my beeb is an active service member, I figured it was doubly important to theme this week's dose of sparkle in a patriotic way :)

Anchor Necklace
Anchor Necklaces from Pink Pineapple Shop- as my baby is in the Navy I'm leaning towards the classic navy or red here, but any of these colors are super fab.

For a less literal, more bohemian look for Memorial Day, I would suggest this spiked necklace that I would probably not be brave enough to wear, but still kinda love anyway.

These statement earrings would look so insanely awesome with an all white ensemble (a la Emily Thorne anyone?)

Miansai® rope bracelet
The subtle sparkle of this sporty bracelet makes it a little bit unexpected for those who don't love bling as much as I do

This super simple white spade bracelet that would look great by itself or stacked with some other awesome bracelets

The bold navy and silver shapes of this necklace would look great with some sleek lines, like a fitted sundress.

Retro Dollie Earrings - Red, Cream, Flower, Party, Casual, Vintage Inspired, Best Seller, Daytime Party, Variation, Graduation, 60s, Bridesmaid, Top Rated
I'm kinda in love with these little studs, they make me smile :)

Finally, depending on how patriotic you want to be today, you can get yourself a couple sets of these earrings from Forever 21 for under 5 bucks.

Star Earrings
I'm pretty sure I would totally rock these sunglasses earrings because they're pretty epic.

Happy Memorial Day, guys!  I hope you have a fabulous time with your cookouts and/or other plans.  Lemme know your favorite Memorial Day styles in the comments!

Stay classy (or try to)

Hey Guys: New KlutchClub Review and my First Vlog Tomorrow

Hey guys my internet's being very spotty cause it's raining down here :(

I was putting together a video for you though!  Hopefully my computer will decide to be up on the internet long enough for me to post it.  BUT to prove it to you that it's a real thing, I sneakily took some ridic screen shots while shooting.  Please excuse the no makeup face and my gym tastic outfit/hair.  I just got back from the gym, workin it out in a cardio dance class.  My video will be about my Klutchclub box for May and I can't wait to show you all the cool things I got!

Don't I look crazy?  Especially that middle picture.  I was laughing really effing hard.

Hopefully I can get the vid up tomorrow!  Please don't judge me too hard- it'll be my first vlog haha.

[I hope this posts before the internet goes out again]

Wonderful Wednesday: It's Totally Ok If...

Ok so I'm totally not going to lie.  I wrote this yesterday and attempted to schedule it to go up at 7.  Apparently, I forgot to schedule the post to go up.  Silly me.  (failblog).

BUT for this week's Wonderful Wednesday, I wanted to do something a little different.  So here is the post that was supposed to go up yesterday but didn't.  Hope you enjoy!!

Hello all!  So for this week's WW, I wanted to have a moment with you all.  There are some things that happen in life (or keep happening), and I'm here to tell you:  it's ok.  I got this idea from Glamour magazine (their monthly "Hey it's OK!" lists make me lol something fierce).  I have a couple things that you know, I've noticed some people doing (I can neither confirm nor deny that I am one of said people).  And you know, we feel awkward and guilty about it all, but guess what?  It's totes cool.  I don't judge you at all.  So without further ado, here is my list of totally ok things.

It's Totally Ok If:

1.  You do Wine Wednesday by yourself.  In your pjs.  With more than one bottle of wine.

2.  It's ok to bash a singer in public, but secretly own all their songs and know all their lyrics.  And belt them out in the shower.  Or car.  Or to your cat.

Exhibit A

3.  If you have a totally age inappropriate song that you rock out to (also in the privacy in your own home).

There may or may not be Miranda Cosgrove's Dancing Crazy from iCarly on my iPod.  No judgment here.

4.  To see all these great ideas on Pinterest and pin them with the expectation of doing them....and then never looking at those pins ever again.  While you pin more great projects to accomplish.

C'mon ladies..."pin now, read later?"  I know I'm not the only one who only pins and never reads.

5.  To have Kate Spade taste on an Old Navy budget.

It's true.  They really are all Prada!!!  Believe me dammit

6.  To acknowledge the fact that you could accomplish so many things with your life...if you weren't so damn lazy.

I wish everyday was a super lazy day.

7.  You're obsessed with super cute office supplies.  It's not weird.

8.  To wish that ABBA island was a real place so you could go hang out with Meryl, Amanda, Amanda's hot fiance, Stellan, Christine, Julie, Colin, and Pierce and sing your heart out.

If I went to ABBA island, I hope they'd give me a man after midnight...if ya know what I mean ;)

9.  To make the resolution to stop eating out so much to save money and buy yourself stuff to make at home....and then get bored of it all.  And go out anyway.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddd....cue 5 Guys.

10.  To get hooked on a show on Netflix, and watch all the available episodes in one day.  And then the next day, drag your ass to the mall and buy all the other seasons that aren't available on Netflix yet because you can't wait.

I've never seen a truer meme.

What tops your "it's totally ok if" list?  Lemme know in the comments!

Remember, it's totes ok!!

New Favorite Websites to Drool Over

Instagram is obviously a dangerous place for me to be.  I find new websites with super cute stuff that I want to buy, and then I have to say goodbye to mah paycheck.  Which is totally not cool.  But two awesome, new-to-me websites are Waiting on Martha  (which by the way has a super fab blog) and Furbish Studio.  If you knew about these before me, well you are obviously a very cool person.  If this is the first time you've heard about these sites, be like me and jump all over that shit like white on rice.  They both have super fun, whimsical pieces that I need in my house like yesterday.  Here are some of my favorite pieces from the websites (pieces I may or may not end up buying when I get my paycheck).

Image 1
This Sailboats Weekly Calendar Pad to keep all my to-do's in order (Furbish Studio- $25)

Sugar Paper Bubbly Cheers Coasters
These adorable "Cheers!" Coasters (Waiting on Martha- $26 for 15)

Image 1
These super fly Mr. and Mrs. Cocktail Glass set (Furbish Studio- $18)

Anchors Aweigh Mug
This Anchors Aweigh Mug that I so want to drink tea from like right now (Waiting on Martha- $29.50)

Image 1
This Coco Chanel paperweight that does nothing to stop my obsession for office supplies (Furbish Studio- $40)

Macaron Trinket Boxes
These ridiculously cute Macaron Trinket Boxes that I would just put around my house to look pretty.  I know I would never actually use them, just look at them (Waiting on Martha- $10 each)

Image 1
Awesome coffee table book of pictures of one of my favorite people- Audrey of course (Furbish Studio- $69.99)

Sugar Paper Westside Kate Note Card Set
OMG these notecards are a must in my life right now!  And they're on sale :D (Waiting on Martha- $14)

Image 1
This print that makes me smile.  I obviously don't say "pom pom" enough (Furbish Studio- $25)

"Three Sheets To The Wind" Flask
Because sometimes a drink is a necessary thing in life...this "Three Sheets to the Wind" flask needs to get in my pocket (Waiting on Martha- $25)

Now these things only scratch the surface of the cuteness, awesomeness, and whimsical-ness of these two websites.  There are soooo many more things on both of them.  I pretty much want to buy one of everything on both websites.  What are your favorite items from Waiting on Martha or Studio Furbish?  Do you have any other similar websites?  I'm a big believer in surrounding yourself with beautiful things and being happy, and these websites can definitely help you accomplish that!

Stay [whimsical, romantic, happy, beautiful] classy!

Magpie Monday: Gatsby Edition

Hello friends!  Today's Magpie Monday was (of course, in case you couldn't tell by my glowing review in my last post) is totally inspired by Gatsby.  Or, more specifically, by Daisy.  Or Jordan.  Or any of the women of the Gatsby movie.  Gatsby is all about decadence and sparkly things and we know how I feel about sparkly things.

She may be a shallow bitch, but she is a shallow bitch with taste.  And Jordan is FABBBBBBB.

I wish I had her closet.  For serious.

Because Gatsby has inspired a mini fashion revolution, art deco and 20s-inspired jewelry pieces are popping up all over the place.  Here are some of my favorites.

Onyx Zelda Drops- Baublebar

Emerald Iced Bangle- Baublebar

Round Rhinestone Studs- Forever 21

Crystal compilation necklace
Crystal Compilation Necklace- J.Crew

Opera-length pearl necklace
Opera Length Pearl Necklace (my fave!!)- J.Crew

Rivello Link Bracelet- Anthropologie

Wine and Dynamo Headband- Modcloth

Wear some of these pieces with the following adorable dresses (and lingerie! ;) )  and you'll be ready for one of Gatsby's parties yourself!

Esteemed Soloist Dress- Modcloth

Bubbly for One Sleep Romper- Modcloth

Cheers Leader Dress- Modcloth

Boudoir Belle Briefs- Modcloth

Can you tell I have a total obsession with Modcloth?  Because I totally do.

What are your favorite Gatsby inspired pieces?  Let me know!

Keep calm, party like Gatsby, and have a great Monday!
